Skiing with Kids in Japan
Japan’s ski resorts are famously family-friendly, with numerous beginner slopes, training areas and snow gardens that are ideal for families with kids of all ages. Tomamu, Sahoro and Kiroro Grand resorts all provide childcare and activities for little ones aged 2-17, leaving you free to enjoy the slopes before coming back together to share exciting stories about your day over a tasty family dinner.
If you’re not sure what to look for when booking ski packages with
kids
in Japan, here are few things that could help your trip run more smoothly.

Childcare Facilities
Club Med G.O.s are trained to provide expert childcare in our well-equipped spaces, with wholesome and engaging activities including crafting, group games, or putting together an impressive performance for an evening show. From the age of 4, kids can enrol in ski lessons led by professional instructors, with a safe practice area in which to learn and improve.
If you have kids of different ages, these childcare facilities – where you can confidently leave younger children to have fun for a few hours – will give you a chance to spend quality time skiing with your older kids, too.

Kids' Ski Zones
Although Japan is known for its family-friendly credentials, each ski resort is different in terms of its facilities. Look for resorts that have snow gardens, where kids can get comfortable on their skis and practice at their own pace. All our resorts have outstanding facilities for learners; in particular, we love Tomamu for its dedicated zone for first-timers and three easy ‘magic carpet’ ski lifts.

Family Ski Lessons
Even if you’re an experienced skier yourself, ski lessons will help your kids build a solid foundation of skills. Taking a few lessons as a family can also be a lot of fun, so look for resorts that have ski schools with group lessons. All Club Med resorts in Japan offer adult group lessons for those aged 12 and over – perfect for bonding with your teenagers.

Family Après-Ski
Beyond the slopes, our resorts have so much to offer families. Choose a ski resort that has additional activities you can enjoy together, such as indoor swimming pools, snow tubing, tobogganing or outdoor playgrounds. Check each resort page for details of what's available. For example, Sahoro resort offers cooking classes and indoor rock climbing, while Tomamu boasts direct access to Mina Mina Beach – Japan’s largest indoor wave pool.
