Guilin China

At first, we were skeptical about whether we would enjoy our 6 days/5 nights holiday at Club Med Guilin. We were worried that it might be too boring and even thought we should have booked a shorter stay instead.

However, Club Med Guilin completely exceeded our expectations!

Thanks to Ali (CDV)’s vision and efforts in upgrading the village’s facilities, the resort now has brand-new pickleball, paddle tennis and tennis courts, as well as a soccer field. The village feels fresh, modern and vibrant.

Being night owls, we were especially touched that the GOs — Adam, Emmett and Richard — went the extra mile to play with us on the courts until late at night. Their enthusiasm and hospitality really made our stay even more memorable.

A special thanks to Clara, who immediately made us feel so welcome when we checked into the village; Sharon — the most important GO to me! ❤️ — and Carol (the Executive Chef), who took great care of all our needs at the restaurant; Jake, who made me fall in love with golf right away; and Ximena and William, who always made us wonderful drinks at the bar.

Also worth mentioning are Debra and KP, who always dropped by to check on us; Richie, with his impressive Michael Jackson moves; Jin, whose incredible acrobatic performances kept us thoroughly entertained; Nobita, who kept us motivated during rock climbing; and Xina and Ping, who always took great care of us at the restaurant.

We had such a great time that we didn’t even hesitate — we immediately booked another trip back to Club Med Guilin less than a month later!

I had the best time of my life at CM Guilin. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality from Clara at reception and Sharon at the restaurant. They went above and beyond to take care of us, making special arrangements and ensuring that every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Ali (CDV) and Debra (LEM) also made us feel incredibly welcome, and their warmth and care made our stay truly unforgettable.

We spent our days enjoying the wide variety of activities, the state-of-the-art facilities (especially the newly renovated courts), and the delicious food at the restaurant. Every moment was filled with fun, laughter, and memorable experiences.

All the GOs were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making CM Guilin truly feel like a second home. We had such a wonderful time with Adam, Emmett, Richard, KP and Richie. A special shoutout to Kimmy for being such a patient and encouraging trapeze teacher, and to William at the bar for serving up fantastic drinks.

I completely fell in love with CM Guilin, and I’ve already booked my second trip back. I can’t wait to return and create more unforgettable memories!

Arrived at resort with cool weather was great & beautiful resort, check in smooth & print outs given on daily activity etc. The resort made our time for our 42nd anniversary a memorable holiday. Lead by Lee Li & his team made our stay wonderful & worthwhile. Thank you so much everyone from the buggy pilot, HK team, rooms, restaurants, kitchen team kudos to all of you. The staff were super friendly and genuinely lovely, it didn't feel like an act like it can sometimes do in hospitality. The food was very tasty with lots of variety and I enjoyed the activities on offer - I did cycling and trapeze and climbing. The evening entertainment was great fun, I only stayed two nights and the first night was a trapeze show followed by dancing and the second was karaoke and I had great fun. The entertainers were great, it was low season however and not many members participated in the karaoke and dancing but it was still great.

We stayed at Club Med Guilin from 10–15 September with our three boys, aged 4–6. Travelling with three young boys is never exactly relaxing, so we simply hoped for somewhere they could have fun while my wife and I enjoyed some time together. We didn't expect to become so attached to the place, and especially its people.

I travel quite a bit and am a frequent member of Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors and World of Hyatt. I enjoy good hotels, but Club Med Guilin offers something different, a warmth and personal touch that conventional hotels don't quite replicate.

The setting is magical, surrounded by greenery and dramatic limestone cliffs. When we arrived, we noticed a lovely fragrance and thought it was the hotel's perfume, only to discover it came from the osmanthus flowers around the resort! Even off-season, that gentle scent became one of our favourite memories.

The attention to detail was wonderful too. Our boys had little bathrobes, kid-sized sandals and children's toiletries waiting for them. Small touches, but they showed how much thought goes into families here.

Food was excellent with plenty of variety. If you're there Thursday or Saturday, reserve the Mongolian dinner and try the freshly made stir-fry dishes. Don't miss the unique osmanthus wine and San Hua baijiu either.

But the people made our stay truly special. The G.O.s and G.E.s were warm, smiling and attentive. Sharon, the restaurant manager, remembered my coffee and our boys' drinks from day one. When we returned late and my wife and children had missed dinner, she even packed food for them.

A huge thank you to Jilin for taking such wonderful care of our three energetic boys, they loved her and still missed her after leaving. Thank you also to Kimmy and Adib for the activities our boys enjoyed, Debra and Gary for the lovely conversations, and Village Chief Mr. Ali for his humour, friendliness and personal attention.

Even five nights didn't feel enough. There is so much to explore in Guilin and so much happening at Club Med that you don't want to leave the resort either.

We arrived expecting a good family holiday but left with wonderful memories, three boys missing the people they met, and all of us wanting to return.
