We recently returned from a wonderful stay at Club Med Bintan, and I’m already hearing daily requests from my 5-year-old to “go back to Club Med!” — a true testament to the impact this resort had on our family.
Kids Club & Petite Club:
Both my 5-year-old and 2.5-year-old had a fantastic time at the Kids Club and Petite Club respectively. The Petite Ckub for 2-3 year olds even have a nap room. The compound for the kids is like school; with different classrooms, a playground onsite and a shallow pool for water play and showers. Huge kudos to the team — Hayley, Kimi, Rere, Garfield and everyone else whose names I didn’t catch. You were all incredibly caring, patient, and full of energy. My son still recites the Club Med cheers at home!
Food:
The food options were vast and impressive across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack times. We especially loved the chicken cordon bleu, barbecued squid with tomato salsa, udon noodle soup, and the addictive red chili pickle condiment (please share the recipe!). That said, the bread and fish dishes were occasionally on the dry side.
Aerial Yoga:
A big shoutout to Sandra, the aerial yoga instructor. I took both the beginner and intermediate classes and found her guidance clear, calm, and confidence-inspiring. She was attentive and ensured everyone got in and out of poses safely. Tip: wear long leggings for comfort!
Facilities & Safety:
Loved that kids’ arm floats and life vests were readily available. It gave us peace of mind, especially with the presence of lifeguards at both pools. The key bracelet system was also a nice touch — super convenient and no worries about losing key cards.
Room & Spa:
Our room was spacious, and I appreciated thoughtful additions like a dehumidifier and a bathtub for toddlers. Only minor feedback: the main room lighting was quite dim — a brighter or adjustable light option would have been helpful.
The spa was a serene escape with amazing views and skilled therapists. It was peaceful and far from the bustle of the main pool — a perfect retreat.
Photography:
We had a session with Dino, who was very patient with our kids. One suggestion: perhaps start with candid shots to help families ease into it before posing for more formal photos.
Arrival Experience:
One hiccup was during our arrival. Our toddler was cranky from being woken up on the bus, and we had to carry her and the pram down a steep flight of stairs to reach our room. It would’ve been much appreciated if Rita, the staff member assisting us, had directed us to the alternative stair-free route, which we later discovered ourselves. Perhaps just an oversight, but a little extra initiative would have made a big difference.
Departure:
What a team effort to have the staff see a busload of visitors off. Mimi was funny and warm; reminding us to check our belongings and make sure we had our passports on us… everyone was making it so hard to leave this beautiful resort.
Final Thoughts:
From the seamless ferry-to-resort transition to the gorgeous surroundings, we had a fantastic time. We’ll definitely be back — this time with long leggings, less luggage (since they provide so much), and even more anticipation!
